Seattle Councilmatic
An open-source civic tech site that started as a personal project last summer. The goal of Seattle Councilmatic is to present what the Seattle City Council is doing in a way that is both accessible and easy to navigate. Plain-language bill summaries, council member profiles with voting records, timestamped meeting recaps, and a browsable summarized version of the 7,400+ section Seattle Municipal Code. The data underneath is what the city already publishes; what Councilmatic adds is a layer of synthesis and navigation designed for someone who isn't already a policy professional.
